WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
With a degree in biology, I somehow ended up in mining research. My scientific background has always inspired my science fiction stories and frequently sneaks into my mysteries.
I’ve been creating stories all my life, beginning with entertaining the neighbourhood kids with incredible adventures.
Over the years I’ve written several books, all of which are languishing at the back of my file cabinet. But there are a few that stand out from the rest.
The first book I ever wrote was a classic Star Trek novel. I was thrilled when the publisher asked to see the entire manuscript. Though it was rejected, it gave me the drive to keep writing. Another science fiction novel (inspired because someone said hello) was abandoned when I tried to drag in aliens who really didn’t want to be there… Actually it’s still too painful to talk about. Another was banished to the file cabinet when I started considering interesting ways to kill off the main character. Never a good sign.
Then several years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which gave me an opportunity to try writing something different. It inspired the idea for my mystery novel Journey of a Thousand Steps, about a marathon runner disabled by MS who turns sleuth in order to find her missing friend.
I was finally a novelist. How could things get any better?
Waiting for the sequel, due out in the spring of 2020.
